Catching Up!

I’m back! It’s been awhile I know but self-care is necessary! I took a social media break following the storms and it was the best thing I’ve done for myself in ages! Did I miss you guys? Absolutely! But, I also craved more intimate and personal connections, being more present in the everyday as opposed to being ‘on’ and hyper-connected 24/7. We’re in the beginning of February and I’m still amazed at how fast January zipped by. I’m working on some awesome things for the blog this year and will be switching things up a bit. I can’t stop talking about #HurricaneMaria because it has literally changed EVERYTHING in my life! Personally, professionally, everything has changed and that’s great, change is always good. Scary but good! Right now I’m so busy with work and it’s hard to get some food items here that I haven’t had time to experiment with new dishes. It is in the works and I’ll be dedicating some time to coming up with new tastes for you to try, I’ve had some requests for more veggie and vegan based dishes so I will try to incorporate those as well.

Have no fear though, this is a food and lifestyle blog and guess what?!? FOOD IS STILL LIFE, and LIFE (and style) go on, windstorm or not! So in the meantime, I’ll be highlighting restaurants and food haunts here in St.Croix that are sure to get your mouth watering and you trying to book a trip ASAP to come visit me!

February is gonna be LIT (I hate that term but there’s no other way to show my excitement!) It’s Black History Month and also Black Panther is opening in a few weeks and I’m READY.FOR.IT! All the memes and videos of #BlackPantherSoLit and everyone the world over are getting ready for this nexus of Noir perfection. I need something special to sashay into the theatre in. It might be as basic as a Black Panther T’Challa tee or even a dashiki. Whatever it is, it will be unapologetically Black! One of my favorite blogger babes, Brittany from Clumps of Mascara was able to attend the premiere earlier this week in Hollywood and is still raving about it!

2018 is gearing up to be an amazing time, I’m totally ready to work for it and reap the rewards that hard work bring! Make sure to sign up for my newsletter, so we can stay in touch. Are you excited about the Black Panther premiere? How are you preparing? Let me know in the comments!
